Skutt Catholic had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Duchesne on Thursday. The SkyHawks were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Cardinals. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 back in August.

Skutt Catholic had a senior duo take command as Mia Stevens had 23 assists and seven digs and Maggie McMahon had five digs and two aces. Stevens is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in each of the last four games she's played. Madison Zajicek also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

Skutt Catholic was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their ace total in three consecutive contests.

Skutt Catholic's record is now 22-10. As for Duchesne, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-18 record this season.
