The Enterprise Wolves will take on the South Sevier Rams at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Enterprise 3.3, South Sevier 2.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Enterprise is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Gunnison Valley just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 5-4. The matchup marked the Wolves' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.
Parker Staheli and Eric Phelps put in work no matter where they played. Throwing, Staheli tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Phelps struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up five earned runs off six hits. Staheli has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in five consecutive appearances. At the plate, Staheli went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, while Phelps went 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that Phelps hit this season.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Clayton Bowler, who went 2-for-4 with one RBI.
Meanwhile, South Sevier waltzed into their game on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They were the clear victor by a 12-1 margin over the Templars. Considering the Rams have won four contests by more than nine runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Stockton Roberts looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Peyton Ingram, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Ryker Freeman was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
South Sevier lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in May of 2024.
Enterprise's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for South Sevier, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Enterprise has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.3 hits per game. However, it's not like South Sevier struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.9 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
