Basketball Recap: Maxwell Panthers vs. Biggs Wolverines
Maxwell lost against Biggs back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Maxwell Panthers were outmatched by the Biggs Wolverines and fell 61-31. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Maxwell's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tanner Vierra, who posted seven points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Macklin Kuska, who put up four points.
Biggs got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Hunter Seipert out in front who had 12 points and eight assists. The dominant performance gave Seipert a new career-high in assists. Another player making a difference was Brady Smith, who earned 12 points in addition to seven assists and five rebounds.
Maxwell's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Biggs, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season.
Maxwell wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 65-50 loss against Portola on the 13th. As for Biggs, they have also already played their next contest, a 58-40 defeat against Durham on the 13th.
