Baseball Recap: North Monterey County Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Stevenson, North Monterey County was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Harbor Pirates 4-3. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Condors as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Christopher Perez, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Alex Cruz was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.

North Monterey County now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Harbor, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Monterey County will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Pacific Grove at 4:00 p.m. on April 7. As for Harbor, they will be playing at home against Soquel at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
