Storm Lake waltzed into their match on Thursday with 12 straight wins... but they left with 13. They walked away with a 72-64 victory over the Humboldt Wildcats. Given the Tornadoes' advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 19th, while the Wildcats are ranked 84th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Storm Lake pushed their record up to 19-1 with the win, which was their tenth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.7 points over those games. As for Humboldt, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-8.

Storm Lake does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Humboldt, they will be playing at home against Algona on Monday. One thing working in Humboldt's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 16 contests.
