Volleyball Recap: Brandeis Comes Up Short

Brandeis lost against Grand Oaks back in August of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Broncos fell just short of the Grizzlies by a score of 2-1. The Broncos have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Brandeis sadly wound up on the wrong side. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-27, 25-22.

Olivia Munoz paced Brandeis' offense, picking up 14 kills. Munoz got some help from Samantha Blazquez and her 20 assists. Blazquez was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Brandeis' loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Grand Oaks, their victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-3.

Brandeis' road trip will continue as they head out to face Cy-Fair at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. As for Grand Oaks, they will venture away from home to square off against The Woodlands at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The match will give the Grizzlies their first taste of in-conference action this season.
