Football Recap: Holy Cross Makes It Four in a Row on the Road

Holy Cross extended their road winning streak to four games thanks to a huge performance from Brian Ferguson. The Indians blew past the Ludlow Panthers, posting a 43-6 win with plenty of help from Ferguson, who rushed for 88 yards and three touchdowns on only five carries, and also threw for 134 yards and one TD. His longest rush was for an impressive 51 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

Holy Cross' defense made their presence known, laying out the QB three times. The team can thank two different players for their defensive prowess: Jacob Rieselman and Garrett Frederick, who each picked up 1.5 sacks apiece.

Holy Cross' victory bumped their record up to 9-0. As for Ludlow, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Holy Cross will face off against Bellevue at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Indians 6, the Tigers 14.9) so any points scored will be well earned. As for Ludlow, they will square off against St. Henry at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers will be up against the Crusaders' rather soft defense (which has allowed 36.89 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
