Baseball Recap: Simley Comes Up Short

Simley fell victim to Mahtomedi and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Zephyrs. The Spartans haven't had much luck with the Zephyrs recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Simley's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Mahtomedi, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-1.

Coming up, Simley will challenge North at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Mahtomedi, they will head out to square off against Hill-Murray at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Pioneers will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
