Mankato West had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Saturday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Austin Packers a 7-0 shutout. The Scarlets have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Packers, too.

Mankato West's victory bumped their record up to 13-3. As for Austin, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mankato West will head out to challenge Red Wing at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Austin, they will venture away from home to face off against Kasson-Mantorville at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
