Volleyball Recap: Grant Community Takes a Loss

Grant Community lost against Waukegan back in August of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Grant Community fell just short of Waukegan by a score of 2-1. While Grant Community didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating Waukegan 25-15 in the first set.

Grant Community started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The final score came out to 15-25, 25-14, 25-23.

Their offense was headlined by Destiny Jenkins and Sienna Enters, who picked up seven kills apiece. They were helped by Katherine Danca and Jill Hobson, who contributed ten assists each. Enters also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Kara Schubert, racking up three apiece.

Grant Community's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Waukegan, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, Grant Community will take on Carmel at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Waukegan, they will face off against Larkin at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
