Volleyball Recap: Ripley Vikings vs. Nicholas County Grizzlies

With a playoff game on the line, Ripley rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Nicholas County Grizzlies by a score of 3-1. The Vikings have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Grizzlies, too.

The final score came out to 25-14, 25-20, 23-25, 25-14.

Ripley found their leader in sophomore Kaydence Sheppard, who had ten digs and 21 assists. Those 21 assists set a new season-high mark for Sheppard.

Ripley was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 16 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Nicholas County only served 13.

Ripley's victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 18-15-4. As for Nicholas County, their defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 17-24-2.

Ripley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Hoover on the 30th. Nicholas County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
