Volleyball Recap: Sonoma Valley Wins Going Away Against Rancho Cotate

Sonoma Valley's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Rancho Cotate Cougars as they made off with a 3-0 win. That's more bragging rights for the Dragons, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Sonoma Valley never let Rancho Cotate on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-23, 25-14.

Damian Aceves paced Sonoma Valley's offense, picking up ten kills. Aceves got some help from Skyler Allan Parker and his 13 assists. Aceves was also solid from the service line: he led the team with two aces.

Sonoma Valley now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Rancho Cotate, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.

Coming up, Sonoma Valley will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Windsor at 5:00 p.m. As for Rancho Cotate, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against Technology on the 4th.
