Baseball Recap: Knightdale Takes a Loss

Knightdale might've scored the first runs on Monday, but it was Millbrook who claimed the real prize. The Knights fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 4-3. The Knights have struggled against the Wildcats recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meeting.

Bryson Irvin made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Knightdale's defeat dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Millbrook, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 14-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Knightdale will square off against South Garner at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Knights are facing the Titans at the right time seeing as the Titans are stuck on a 12-game losing streak. As for Millbrook, they will face off against Garner at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Trojans' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Wildcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
