Milton proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by six) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a run and slipped past the Burlington Demons 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Red Hawks have posted since May 10, 2024.

Nathan Birkhimer tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched.

At the plate, Milton's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Charlie Fitzke, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Milton now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Burlington, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.
