            Baseball Recap: Colts Neck Cougars vs. Manasquan Warriors        
        
		
        
        
            Colts Neck barely beat Manasquan the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Cougars' pitcher stepped up to hand the Warriors  an   11-0 shutout  on Saturday. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won four games by ten  runs or more  so far this season.
Colts Neck got a great performance from  Nick Hayden as he  didn't allow a single  earned run over five innings pitched. Hayden has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in three consecutive appearances.

 On the hitting side,  Joseph Pignatelli was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with one  home run, four  RBI,  and one  double. Those  four  RBI gave  him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of  Ronan Kiely, who  went a perfect 2-for-2 with two  runs, two  doubles,  and two  RBI.
 Colts Neck was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .481. That's the best  batting average they've posted all season.
The  win made it two in a row for Colts Neck and  bumps their season record up to 9-3. The  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5  runs in those games. As for Manasquan, they moved to 9-3 with that  defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.
 Looking ahead, Colts Neck will challenge Middletown South at 4:00  p.m.  on Monday. As for Manasquan, they will take on Wall Township at 3:45  p.m.  on Monday.
