Softball Recap: Elmwood Beats Leipsic for Their Fourth Straight Win

Elmwood entered their tilt with Leipsic on Wednesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They blew past the Vikings 11-2. The result was nothing new for the Royals, who have now won five contests by nine runs or more so far this season.

Maddy Campbell was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with four stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Libbie Tyson was another key player, going 2-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Elmwood kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Elmwood's win bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Leipsic, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Elmwood will head out to take on Arcadia at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Leipsic, they will face off against North Baltimore at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
