Volleyball Recap: Howland Extends Winning Streak to Three

Howland waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Ursuline Fighting Irish with a sharp 3-0 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Tigers also won the last time the pair played back in August of 2024.

While Howland won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-23, 25-18.

Howland's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Michelina Wayt led the charge by getting nine digs and two aces. That's the most aces Wayt has posted since back in October of 2024.

Howland's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Ursuline, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Howland didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-1 defeat against West Branch on the 23rd. As for Ursuline, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Salem on the 21st.
