Basketball Recap: South Broward Gets the Win

If Stoneman Douglas wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played South Broward, they should've done a better job of containing Ayonna Lewis. The South Broward Bulldogs walked away with a 40-28 victory over the Stoneman Douglas Eagles on Friday thanks in part to Lewis, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in assists (five).

Kalia Adams was another key player, putting up six points along with 12 rebounds and four blocks. She has been hot, having posted two or more blocks the last seven times she's played.

South Broward's win bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Stoneman Douglas, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Broward will challenge Coral Springs at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Coral Springs is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.7 points per game this season. As for Stoneman Douglas, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Piper at 6:00 p.m.
