Baseball Recap: Lakeview Triumphs

Lakeview's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over the LaBrae Vikings. For the Bulldogs, this counts as revenge for the 7-3 victory the Vikings walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Jason DeMonica looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Carter Doran, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.

Lakeview's record now sits at 7-5. As for LaBrae, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lakeview will head out to face off against West Branch at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for LaBrae, they will challenge Springfield at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
