Basketball Game Preview: Northwest Classical Academy Spartans vs. Hearts Academy Panthers

The Northwest Classical Academy Spartans will face off against the Hearts Academy Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Friday, Northwest Classical Academy beat The Stonehaven School 46-36. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Spartans.

Northwest Classical Academy found their leader in sophomore Isaac Edwards, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 14 boards. Edwards is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Drew Starstrom, who went 6-for-15 on his way to 12 points and five assists.

Northwest Classical Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards every time they've taken the court this season.

Meanwhile, Hearts Academy gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Scholars Guild Academy 82-33.

Northwest Classical Academy now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Hearts Academy, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
