Baseball Recap: Titusville Extends Home Winning Streak to Four

Titusville won the last time they faced Palm Bay and things went their way on Thursday too. The Terriers blew past the Pirates 8-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Terriers.

Jesse Decter made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over six innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Titusville is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-10 otherwise. Decter was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

In other pitching news, Kyle Cox looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

Back at the plate, Ryland Nicolaisen and Chase Hill did most of the damage at the plate: Nicolaisen went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double, while Hill scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Those three RBI gave Nicolaisen a new career-high. Nolan Edwards was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Titusville's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-11. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Palm Bay, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-8 record this season.

Palm Bay will be playing at home against Cocoa at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Titusville will be paying especially close attention to the Pirates' game: after the Pirates faces off against the Tigers, they'll take on Titusville again at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
