Softball Game Preview: Roosevelt Bears vs. Riverview Pirates

For the second straight game, Roosevelt will face off against Riverview. The Bears will head out to square off against the Pirates at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Riverview hit Roosevelt with a five-run seventh inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Bears came up short against the Pirates, falling 11-3. The defeat continues a trend for the Bears in their meetings with the Pirates: they've now lost four in a row.

For Riverview's part, Makayla Raymond spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits.

At the plate, Sis Ferrara and Kinley Hagedorn did most of the damage at the plate: Ferrara got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Hagedorn went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Keira Logan, who went 2-for-5 with two runs and one double.

Riverview was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .382. The last time their batting average was this high was back in May of 2025.

Roosevelt's loss dropped their record down to 22-9. As for Riverview, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 21-5-1.
