After flying high against North Nodaway on Thursday, Mound City came back down to earth. The Panthers fell 3-1 to the St. Joseph Christian Lions on Monday. The Panthers' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Mound City started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-23, 25-23, 25-15.

Peyton Farr paced Mound City's offense, picking up five kills. Farr got some help from Danica McDonald and her five assists.

Leading St. Joseph Christian to victory were Madison Glise and Leah Miller. Glise had eight digs and five aces, while Miller had 12 digs and one assist. Those five aces gave Glise a new career-high.

Mound City's loss dropped their record down to 18-7-1. As for St. Joseph Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6-1 record this season.

Mound City didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against East Atchison [Tarkio/Fairfax] on the 16th. As for St. Joseph Christian, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Chillicothe on the 14th.
