Baseball Game Preview: Union Titans vs. Battle Ground Tigers

For the second straight game, Union will face off against Battle Ground. The Titans are taking a road trip to face off against the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Union is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.

On Monday, Union beat Battle Ground 8-3.

Rylan Howe made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out 12 batters over 6.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off eight hits (and not a single walk). He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Union is 4-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 5-7 otherwise. Howe was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one run. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Blake Sutton was excellent, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brody Iverson, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Union always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .579. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
