Softball Game Preview: Pinellas Park Patriots vs. St. Petersburg Green Devils

The Pinellas Park Patriots will take on the St. Petersburg Green Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Pinellas Park came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Northeast, falling 12-5. The Patriots have struggled against the Vikings recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Pinellas Park saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ayanah Wilson, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, St. Petersburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 12-2 to Clearwater. That's two games in a row now that the Green Devils have lost by exactly ten runs.

Victoria Wirth made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Pinellas Park's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for St. Petersburg, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.
