Softball Game Preview: South Lakes Seahawks vs. James Madison Warhawks

South Lakes hasn't had much luck against James Madison recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Seahawks will look to defend their home field against the Warhawks at 6:30 p.m. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with South Lakes sitting on four straight wins and James Madison on five.

On Friday, South Lakes earned an 11-7 victory over Westfield.

Cassandra De La Cruz was a standout: she went 2-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kayla Rudolph, who went 2-for-5 with one home run and three RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: South Lakes kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Westfield only managed nine hits.

Meanwhile, while James Madison put up some runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Oakton. The Warhawks were the clear victors by a 9-0 margin over the Cougars. Considering the Warhawks have won 11 contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

South Lakes' win bumped their record up to 14-5. As for James Madison, their victory bumped their record up to 18-2.
