Softball Recap: Cactus Cobras vs. Mohave Thunderbirds
Cactus easily dispatched Moon Valley on Monday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Cactus Cobras fell just short of the Mohave Thunderbirds by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday. Having soared to a lofty 19 runs in the game before, the Cobras couldn't push the score so high this time.

Ciara Anthony put in work while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits (and not a single walk). Furthermore, she didn't allow a single walk, the first time she has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played dating back to last season.
Anthony wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Rhyan Enos, who went 3-for-4 with one RBI.
Cactus' defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Mohave, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
Coming up, Cactus will take on Greenway at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Mohave, they will challenge Aztec at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday.
