Basketball Recap: Paradise Adventist Academy Beats Pine Hills Adventist for Their Third Straight Win

Paradise Adventist Academy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They blew past the Pine Hills Adventist Eagles 56-34. For the Cougars, this counts as revenge for the 36-28 win the Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2020.

Pine Hills Adventist's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Luke Childers, who shot 4-for-5 from beyond the arc and almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine boards. Those nine rebounds gave Childers a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Tyler Gatling, who posted ten points and four steals.

Paradise Adventist Academy is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.2 points per game. As for Pine Hills Adventist, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Paradise Adventist Academy will square off against Princeton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pine Hills Adventist, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Pine Hills Adventist Eagles challenge the Forest Lake Christian Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on January 30th.
