Baseball Game Preview: Highland Home Flying Squadron vs. Montgomery Academy Eagles

The Highland Home Flying Squadron will head out to challenge the Montgomery Academy Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Highland Home will be strutting in after a win while Montgomery Academy will be coming in after a defeat.

Highland Home is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Calhoun on Thursday as they made off with a 23-4 victory. The Flying Squadron might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by ten runs or more this season.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Friday. Montgomery Academy lost 14-1 to Alabama Christian Academy. Montgomery Academy hasn't had much luck with Alabama Christian Academy recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Montgomery Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Oscar Fiore, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Highland Home has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.9 runs over those games. As for Montgomery Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 12-11.

Highland Home might still be hurting after the 14-0 defeat they got from Montgomery Academy in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Flying Squadron avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
