Basketball Recap: Schulter Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Schulter can now relate to. They were dealt a 63-35 defeat at the hands of the Buffalo Valley Buffaloes on Saturday. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 405th, while the Buffaloes are ranked 139th).

Tristyn Kirkes was her usual excellent self, going 7-for-11 to rack up 19 points along with six boards and six steals for Buffalo Valley. That's the most points Kirkes has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Raelea Johnson, who scored ten points in addition to six assists and five steals.

Schulter has traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 12 matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season. As for Buffalo Valley, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 19-7.

As of now, neither Schulter nor Buffalo Valley have any future games scheduled.
