Baseball Recap: Washington Now 8-2 over Last Ten Games

While Washington put up some runs on Monday, the same can't be said for East Peoria. The Panthers had just enough and edged out the Raiders 1-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Panthers have posted against the Raiders since May 26, 2021.

Not much got past Carter Prina, who gave up just three hits and racked up ten Ks to keep East Peoria off the board. Prina has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Washington saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gavin Lawrence, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Washington has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for East Peoria, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-5.

Washington will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Raiders: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
