Basketball Recap: Philip Barbour Finds Playoff Glory Versus Braxton County

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Philip Barbour walked away with it. They snuck past the Braxton County Eagles with a 55-50 win on Friday. This was payback for the Colts, who suffered a 67-62 loss the last time these two teams met.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Steve Boggs, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 16 rebounds. Brady Toler was another key player, shooting 64% from the field to rack up 21 points.

Philip Barbour's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-14. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.0 points over those games. As for Braxton County, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-8.
