Orangewood Christian has gone a perfect 5-0 against Orlando Christian Prep recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. Orangewood Christian is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over Legacy Charter. The victory continues a trend for the Rams in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won nine in a row.
The team relied heavily on Alex Walker, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Wendorf, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.
Walker wasn't the only one making solid contact: Orangewood Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive games.
Orlando Christian Prep hadn't beaten Geneva on the road since April 16, 2018 but that history sure didn't bother them on Tuesday. The Warriors came out on top against the Knights by a score of 6-2.
Brayden Schuster was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Jorge Martinez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Orlando Christian Prep has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Orangewood Christian, their record now sits at 14-9.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Orangewood Christian has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Orlando Christian Prep struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Orangewood Christian's way against Orlando Christian Prep when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Orangewood Christian made off with a 14-8 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
