The Telstar Rebels are taking a road trip to face off against the Sacopee Valley Hawks at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Telstar's pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so Sacopee Valley's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Telstar will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Friday, then bounced right back against Greenville on Tuesday. The Rebels put the hurt on the Lakers with a sharp 15-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Rebels, who have now won six matchups by 11 runs or more so far this season.

Luke Mowery made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Mowery was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with five stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI. Those five stolen bases gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Telstar let Brennan Walker and Connor Deprey run wild. Walker went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while Deprey got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those four stolen bases gave Deprey a new career-high. Camden Johnston also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Telstar always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .606. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
The scorekeeper got an easy start on Friday as neither Sacopee Valley nor Waynflete made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Hawks fell just short of the Flyers by a score of 4-3. The Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Isiah Nielsen was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two RBI and one run.
Telstar is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Sacopee Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-7-1.
Sacopee Valley's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Telstar hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .334. It's a different story for Sacopee Valley, though, as they've only averaged .244. Will they be able to contain Telstar's hitters?
Telstar couldn't quite finish off Sacopee Valley in their previous meeting back in April and fell 8-6. Can the Rebels avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
