Basketball Recap: Western Heights Takes a Loss

Western Heights lost against Midwest City back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Western Heights Jets were dealt a 76-44 loss at the hands of the Midwest City Bombers. While losing is never fun, the Jets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 198th, while the Bombers are ranked 12th).

It was another big night for DeShawn Denson II, who went 11 for 19 on his way to 30 points and eight rebounds for Midwest City. The game was Denson II's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Mason Mckenzie, who posted 11 points and five boards.

Western Heights dropped their record down to 7-9 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Midwest City, their win bumped their record up to 13-6.

Western Heights didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, an 84-71 loss against Marshall on the 31st. Midwest City has also already played their next contest, a 73-69 victory against Lawton on the 31st.
