East Surry is 9-0 against Wilkes Central since December of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The East Surry Cardinals will face off against the Wilkes Central Eagles at 6:30 p.m.

On Wednesday, East Surry lost to South Stokes on the road by a 81-67 margin. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 387th, while the Sauras are ranked 85th).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Wilkes Central, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They managed a 46-41 victory over North Wilkes on Wednesday.

The win got Wilkes Central back to even at 10-10. As for East Surry, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-10.

Everything came up roses for East Surry against Wilkes Central in their previous meeting on January 7th, as the team secured a 76-49 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for East Surry since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
