Recap: Saluda Tigers vs. Ninety Six Wildcats
The Saluda Tigers won the last time they faced the Ninety Six Wildcats, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Saluda snuck past Ninety Six with a 39-34 win.
When it comes to explaining why Ninety Six lost, one person who can't be blamed is Janiyah Squire. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 17 points and 20 rebounds. Squire is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last 11 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Coster, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Ninety Six struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Saluda is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. As for Ninety Six, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-6.
Saluda will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Mid-Carolina at 6:00 p.m. Saluda is coming into the matchup with four straight victories at home, meaning Mid-Carolina will have to defend against a team hungry for a win. Ninety Six does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
