Volleyball Recap: Ignacio Beats Nucla for Their Third Straight Win

Ignacio waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Nucla Mustangs as they made off with a 3-0 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Bobcats, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

While Ignacio won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The final score came out to 25-16, 25-17, 25-22.

Their offense was headlined by Maliyah Martinez and Reggi Gustafson, who picked up seven kills apiece. They got some help from Kelly Sirios and her 23 assists. Amira Montoya controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Ignacio's win bumped their record up to 13-3. As for Nucla, their loss dropped their record down to 9-8.

Ignacio didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against Pagosa Springs on the 16th. As for Nucla, they have also already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Ouray on the 14th.
