Basketball Recap: Rocky Mount's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Rocky Mount had won five straight games and Anthony Jones did his part to make it six on Tuesday. The Rocky Mount Gryphons blew past the Roanoke Rapids Yellowjackets 73-39 thanks in part to Jones, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down 11 or more in the last five games he's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Myles Hunter, who posted nine points. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

Rocky Mount has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.8 points per game. As for Roanoke Rapids, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-7.

Coincidentally, Rocky Mount and Roanoke Rapids will both be playing Bunn the next time they take the court. Rocky Mount will host Bunn at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while Roanoke Rapids will host them at 7:30 p.m. on February 11th.
