Volleyball Recap: Pearl River Central Blue Devils vs. Stone Tomcats
Pearl River Central managed to slip by Stone the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Blue Devils lost 3-0 to the Tomcats on Thursday. The Blue Devils were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tomcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.
Pearl River Central was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Stone work for it, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 27-25, 25-17.
Stone can attribute much of their success to Payton Gonzalez, who had 15 digs and three assists.
Pearl River Central's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Stone, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pearl River Central will square off against Poplarville at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Stone, they will take on Forrest County Agricultural at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
