Clay-Battelle had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 36.8 points) and they went ahead and made it seven on Saturday. They skirted past the Sherman Tide 16-14.

Although Sherman took the loss, they still got scores from Trey Lester and Dawson Green.

Clay-Battelle's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Sherman, they moved to 6-2 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Clay-Battelle will host Oak Glen at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Cee-Bees 13, the Golden Bears 12.4) so any points scored will be well earned. As for Sherman, they are taking a road trip to challenge Scott at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
