Basketball Recap: Beaumont Piles Up the Points Against Miller

Beaumont extended their winning streak to three on Wednesday, bumping them up to 5-1. They blew past the Miller Rebels, posting a 70-30 victory. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 35 points or more this season.

Beaumont's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Davien Mitchell led the charge by shooting 44% from the field on his way to 11 points. Another player making a difference was Nick Tolbert, who posted six points in addition to six steals and five assists.

Beaumont was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in four consecutive matchups.

As for Miller, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-4. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 51.3 points this season.

Despite the loss, Miller still got an impressive performance from Dyrral Hall, who dropped a double-double with 22 points and ten boards. With that strong performance, Hall is now averaging an impressive 15.3 points per game.

Coincidentally, Beaumont and Miller will both be playing Carter the next time they take the court. The Rebels will head out to face the Lions at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Cougars will host them at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
