With 20 teams at the same position as last week, not much has changed in the power rankings this week -- but there was still plenty of gameday excitement. Among the action were the efforts of Corner Canyon's junior Cole Hagen, an offensive menace who scored five total TDs.
No Stoppin 'Em
Pine View and Highland went up, up, and away last week as they combined for the highest point total (75) among all power ranked teams. Highland received a tough blow as it fell 45 - 30 to Pine View. The power rankings were completely indifferent to the match, so neither team moved up or down this week.
This Week's Big Showdown
On paper, the match between Bingham (1st in the power rankings) and East (2nd) looked as though it might be one of the more compelling ones, but things did not play out that way on the field. Bingham took its game against East by a confident 30 - 8 score. Bingham made sure to walk the walk to justify being talked up as the big favorite.
Next Week's Big Game
If you are itching to watch a first-rate contest, no game is supposed to fit the bill better than the one between Alta (16th in the power rankings) and East (2nd). Alta will be strutting in after a win while East will be stumbling in from a defeat. We'll see if Alta can add another positive mark to its record or if East can shake off its loss and take the spring out of Alta's step.
