Basketball Recap: Red Lake Takes a Loss

Red Lake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 16th straight loss. They took a blow against the Mahnomen/Waubun Thunderbirds, falling 84-27. The Warriors were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 50-15.

Audrianna Lussier was Red Lake's leading scorer, having posted 11 points. Zoey Morris held things down on the boards with five rebounds. Ambria Vasquez took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with three assists.

Red Lake's defeat dropped their record down to 1-18. As for Mahnomen/Waubun, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-12.

Looking ahead, Red Lake will head out to face off against Pine River-Backus at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Red Lake is facing Pine River-Backus at the right time seeing as Pine River-Backus is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Mahnomen/Waubun, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 61-49 loss against Pelican Rapids on the 18th.
