Basketball Recap: Hobbton Wildcats vs. North Duplin Rebels
Hobbton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They were beaten by the North Duplin Rebels 55-19. The Wildcats were not able to make up for their loss to the Rebels from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Madison Sinclair, who posted eight points. That's the most points Sinclair has posted since back in February of 2024.
North Duplin's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tateyawna Faison, who put up eight points in addition to nine rebounds and three blocks. Faison is crushing it when it comes to boards: she's pulled down at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Maggie Brown was another key player, putting up four points along with 11 rebounds and six steals.
Hobbton's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for North Duplin, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-3.
Hobbton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 79-19 loss against Neuse Charter on the 4th. North Duplin has also already played their next contest, a 71-35 victory against Union on the 29th.
