Basketball Recap: Riverdale Extends Winning Streak to Three

Riverdale entered their tilt with North Clayton on Wednesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 56-50 W against the North Clayton Eagles. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 44-39 win last Friday.

Riverdale got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jaylen Allen out in front who went 7-for-16 on his way to 19 points. Another player making a difference was Nigel Favers, who posted 16 points along with five steals and three blocks.

Riverdale's victory bumped their record up to 14-11. As for North Clayton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 12-14 record this season.

Coming up, Riverdale will head out on the road to challenge Cedar Grove at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. Cedar Grove knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten games -- so hopefully Riverdale likes a good challenge. North Clayton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
