Preview: Luling Eagles vs. Randolph Ro-Hawks
The Luling Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Randolph Ro-Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Luling is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.
Two weeks ago, Luling suffered a rough 31-10 loss at the hands of Cole.
Luling's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Isaac Pina, who rushed for 82 yards and a touchdown on only five carries, and Cayden Lopez who rushed for 82 yards.
Meanwhile, after a string of eight wins, Randolph's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of Cole by a score of 35-32. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Lee Mcmooain iii, who picked up 93 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Collin Stucki, who threw for 280 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 10.8 yards per attempt.
Luling's loss was their fifth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 2-6. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 6-2 Boling and 9-3 Randolph (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 60.3% over those games). As for Randolph, their loss dropped their record down to 8-1.
Luling came up short against Randolph in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, falling 31-20. Can Luling avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
