Baseball Recap: Lake Shore Starts Season with Defeat at Home

Lake Shore unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 9-1 to the Pioneer Panthers on Thursday. The loss continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost five in a row.

Jackson Zybala was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. Keegan Green was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2.

While Lake Shore had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
