Baseball Recap: Zephyrhills Takes a Loss

In Monday's Canine Competition, Zephyrhills didn't have enough. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 14-0 to the Cypress Creek Coyotes, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The defeat continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their meetings with the Coyotes: they've now lost three in a row.

Zephyrhills saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nicholas Purcell, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Zephyrhills' loss dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Cypress Creek, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Zephyrhills will take on Fivay at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cypress Creek, they will square off against Land O' Lakes at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Gators' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so the Coyotes' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
