District 10 Region 3 AA recap Oct. 3, 2012
Titusville moved up to 292 from 320 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in District 10 Region 3 AA. A 38-0 win over the Rockets helped the Rockets improve their standing.
Wilmington Area took down Saegertown 49-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Jacob Riffe put up the best numbers through the air as Greenville fell to Grove City. He finished with four completions for 25 yards and one touchdown. Riffe's favorite target this week was Luke Houpt, who caught two passes for 15 yards.
DeShawn Coleman was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 149 yards on nine carries as Hickory topped the Trojans. Teammate Kenny Ezi-Ashi added to the ground attack by rushing for 17 yards.
Trinch was the best wideout in the league this week as Grove City beat Greenville. Trinch tallied six receptions for 72 yards. Chad Williams helped Grove City's passing attack out by catching two balls for 38 yards.
Titusville's Jayce Corklin and Alex Griffin have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading District 10 Region 3 AA in both passing and receiving yards. Corklin has thrown for 490 yards this season, while Griffin, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has nine catches for 219 yards. The Hornets' Coleman leads the league in rushing yards with 706.
Brian Herrick's team made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 7,454 from 7,867. The improvement was the result of 19-14 victory over the Trojans last week.
